Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced that 55,000 posts will soon be filled in Bihar Police. He made this announcement on Saturday while giving appointment letters to 21,391 newly appointed constables in Patna. The ceremony was held at Bapu Auditorium where many top police and government officials were present on the stage.
During his speech, Nitish Kumar looked upset about the delay in recruitment. He told the officers sitting on the stage to stand up and asked them why the recruitment process was taking so long. He instructed them to complete the recruitment for the remaining posts as soon as possible so that people can get jobs and the police force becomes stronger.
The Chief Minister said that before he came to power in 2005, Bihar had only 42,481 policemen. His government increased this number to 1.10 lakh. Two years ago, he decided that the state should have 2.29 lakh policemen to ensure better law and order. He also said that Bihar has the highest number of women in its police force compared to other states.
Officials informed the Chief Minister that recruitment for 19,838 constables is already in process and the exam will be held next month. Nitish Kumar asked them to start the recruitment for the remaining posts without any delay so that the youth get employment opportunities and the security system of Bihar becomes stronger.
