Patna: The Congress party’s disciplinary committee has served show-cause notices to 43 of its leaders in Bihar, alleging anti-party activities during the 2025 assembly election. According to a press release, the individuals reportedly made statements in the media and on public platforms that contradicted the party’s official position, causing “damage to the organisation’s image and electoral prospects”.
The notices were approved by Kapildev Prasad Yadav, chairperson of the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee’s disciplinary panel, who said all those named have been directed to submit a written explanation by 12pm on November 21, 2025.
“Failure to respond within the stipulated time will compel the committee to take strict action, including expulsion from the primary membership of the Congress for six years,” Yadav stated.
The disciplinary committee emphasised that party unity and discipline remain paramount, adding that any act perceived as undermining the organisation would be dealt with seriously.
