Patna: Turmoil within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has intensified following the party’s heavy defeat in the Bihar assembly elections, with former state minister Tej Pratap Yadav alleging that his parents, Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi, are being subjected to “mental harassment.” He has urged both the central and state governments to launch an investigation.
Tensions escalated after claims of mistreatment at Rabri Devi’s residence, with Tej Pratap indirectly accusing Sanjay Yadav and Rameez Khan — figures seen as close aides to Tejashwi Prasad Yadav — of involvement. Without naming them, he warned that he would “bury all these Jaichands in the ground,” invoking a historical term used for traitors.
His sister, Rohini Acharya, added to the rift by issuing sharp remarks on social media. Tej Pratap wrote on X that any disrespect shown towards his sister would not be tolerated. “Jaichand will have to pay the consequences for this misbehaviour,” he wrote, calling the alleged incident involving Rohini “heartbreaking.” He added that while he had endured personal grievances, the “insult” to his sister was unacceptable and that “the people of Bihar will never forgive those who attacked the family.”

The family dispute surfaced publicly after the election results, when Rohini alleged she had been mistreated at the former chief minister’s residence. She initially announced her intention to quit politics and distance herself from the family but later clarified that her grievance was specifically with Tejashwi, saying she continued to stand with Lalu, Rabri, and her other sisters.
Tej Pratap’s latest allegations have deepened the internal crisis within the Yadav family, even as the party leadership has maintained silence over the unfolding controversy.
