Patna: India’s latest Vande Bharat Express connecting Danapur and Jogbani has been inaugurated and will begin regular operations on September 17, offering faster and more comfortable journeys across Bihar.
The train, numbered 26302 and 26301, was launched on September 15 and completed its inaugural run from Jogbani to Danapur via Forbesganj, Purnia, Samastipur, Madhepura, Saharsa and Patna Junction. The service aims to improve connectivity across north-eastern Bihar, covering several key districts along its route.
The railways have fixed the fares for the new service: Rs 1,320 for Chair Car (CC) and Rs 2,375 for Executive Class (EC) on the full Danapur–Jogbani route. On shorter stretches, fares will vary—Rs 490 (CC) and Rs 925 (EC) for Danapur to Muzaffarpur, Rs 555 (CC) and Rs 1,060 (EC) for Samastipur, Rs 925 (CC) and Rs 1,600 (EC) for Khagaria, and Rs 1,185 (CC) and Rs 2,120 (EC) for Purnia. Bookings have already opened.
According to the schedule, train number 26302 will leave Danapur daily at 5:10 pm, reaching Jogbani at 1:20 am. The return train, 26301, will depart Jogbani at 3:25 am and reach Danapur by 11:30 am. With modern amenities and reduced travel times, the service is expected to offer passengers a convenient and reliable option for long-distance travel within Bihar.
