Patna: The monsoon will remain active across Bihar on Tuesday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a warning of heavy rainfall in 11 districts, along with gusty winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 km/h. The unsettled weather is expected to continue for at least the next three to four days.
According to the IMD, heavy rain alerts have been issued for East Champaran, West Champaran and Gopalganj, while districts including Saran, Siwan, Begusarai, Kishanganj, Samastipur and Jamui have also been placed under a rain warning. In Patna and Gayaji, light to moderate showers are forecast, with the possibility of thunderstorms and lightning.
The IMD has advised residents to remain cautious, particularly farmers, urging them not to stay in open areas during storm activity. Widespread cloud cover and intermittent rainfall are expected across much of the state, accompanied by strong winds.
Meteorologists said the current spell is being driven by cyclonic circulations over northeastern Bangladesh and central Assam, which are generating favourable conditions for heavy rain across Bihar.
In the capital, Patna, Monday saw heavy showers in several neighbourhoods, with the skies remaining overcast since early Tuesday morning. Temperatures dropped following the rainfall, providing some respite from the humid heat that had prevailed in recent days.
