New Delhi: The DTU Crossword Contest 2026 was held on Friday at the campus of Delhi Technological University, drawing enthusiastic participation from students across the capital despite persistent heavy rainfall.
The event, which highlighted a growing interest in wordplay and logical reasoning among young academics, saw around 60 students from various Delhi-based institutions register for the contest. Organisers said the turnout, even amid adverse weather conditions, underlined the determination and intellectual curiosity of the participants.
The competition was organised under the guidance of Prof. Prateek Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of DTU, and Prof. S. Indu, Dean of Digital Education. The initiative for the contest was taken by Prof. Ramesh Agrawal of the School of Computer and System Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University, reflecting a spirit of inter-institutional academic collaboration.

Coordination of the event was handled by Dr. Trasha Gupta, assistant professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics at DTU, while the contest itself was conducted by Vinayak Ekbote, whose engaging style contributed to the competitive yet lively atmosphere. The event received support from Beltron and Central Bank of India.
After an intense and closely fought contest, the prizes were awarded to Adya Singh of St. Stephen’s College, who secured first place, followed by Satyam Tiwari of DTU in second position and Aadishri Kher, also from DTU, who finished third.
Organisers said the contest went beyond competition, serving as a platform to promote critical thinking, language skills and intellectual engagement outside the classroom. The strong turnout, they added, reaffirmed DTU’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and providing spaces where students can test their abilities in diverse and creative ways.
