Patna: Several parts of Bihar have begun experiencing early signs of summer heat in the second half of February, with rising daytime temperatures and clear skies, according to recent weather observations. In Patna on Friday, the maximum temperature reached 28.4°C, which is 2.4 degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature stood at 12.8°C, one degree above the seasonal average.
Weather conditions across the state show a pattern of mild chill and light fog during mornings, followed by strong sunshine in the afternoon that is pushing temperatures upward. At least ten districts have already recorded temperatures above 30°C. Meteorological trends indicate that temperatures may rise by another 2 to 3 degrees over the next four to five days.
Experts say northwesterly winds could cause a slight drop in night temperatures, creating fluctuations between warm days and relatively cooler nights. Doctors have advised caution, noting that seasonal transitions often lead to an increase in cases of cold, cough, and viral infections. They recommend wearing light warm clothing during early morning and evening hours and staying hydrated while outdoors in the sun. Children and elderly people have been identified as particularly vulnerable during such weather shifts.
Meanwhile, the forecast has brought relief for farmers. With no rainfall expected in the coming days, standing wheat and vegetable crops are unlikely to suffer weather-related damage.
