Samastipur: In Bihar’s Samastipur district, officials received a strange online request — an application for a residential certificate in the name of “Donald John Trump”. The listed address was village Hasanpur, ward number 13, under Bakarpur post and Mohiuddinnagar police station.
When revenue staff checked the details, they found the documents had been tampered with, including the photo, Aadhaar number, barcode and address. The application, submitted on 29 July, was rejected on 4 August. Officials believe it was a deliberate prank aimed at making fun of the system.
RO Srishti Sagar of Mohiuddinnagar filed a case at the cyber police station, saying the prank was an attempt to disrupt official work. Police have registered an FIR and started tracing the culprit. DSP Durgesh Deepak said action will be taken soon under the IT Act.
Authorities have warned that such misuse of online government services wastes time and resources, and anyone found guilty will face strict punishment.
