Patna: A Generative AI hackathon held on Monday at the Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) brought together developers, students and industry professionals to design and deploy real-world solutions powered by the latest advances in generative artificial intelligence.
The event, titled GenAI Hackathon x AI Hajipur 2025, was organised by the AI Hajipur Community, part of Google’s developer ecosystem and supported by Google for Developers. It forms a segment of Google’s national initiative aimed at engaging TensorFlow, AI/ML and cloud communities across India.

The programme opened with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, a traditional gesture symbolising the start of the event. Opening the event, Dr Sunil Kumar, former NABARD Chief General Manager and Professor of Practice at CIMP, said generative AI is “not merely a technological trend, but a shift in how knowledge, creativity and problem-solving will be integrated into daily work and public systems in the coming decade.” He added that hackathons of this kind help bridge the gap between academic learning and rapid industry-level innovation.

During the one-day programme, participants worked with tools including Gemini CLI, Google ADK and Google Cloud services to prototype projects with direct societal and commercial applications. Mentors from academia and the technology sector guided teams through design, deployment and problem-solving challenges.
Organisers said the goal was to democratise access to high-level machine learning tools and cultivate a pipeline of AI talent in Bihar and the wider region. Participants described the format as “intensive but empowering, with several teams presenting prototypes ranging from educational applications to automated business workflows.

The event concluded with demonstrations and feedback sessions, and organisers indicated further workshops and community programmes will follow in early 2026.
