Patna: Gold and silver prices increased on August 11, with gold rising Rs 1,849 per 10 grams and silver gaining Rs 2,907 per kg, according to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA).
The price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold reached around Rs 1.52 lakh, while silver rose to Rs 2.34 lakh per kg.
Gold has become Rs 9,630 more expensive in the first 10 days of August. Silver has increased by Rs 15,985 per kg during the same period.
Gold And Silver Remain Higher In 2026
Both precious metals have recorded an overall increase in prices this year despite fluctuations.
Gold has risen by around Rs 19,000 since December 31, 2025, when 10 grams was priced at more than Rs 1.33 lakh. It is now trading at around Rs 1.52 lakh.
Silver, meanwhile, has increased by around Rs 4,000 per kg from its December 31 price of Rs 2.30 lakh.
During the year, gold reached an all-time high of around Rs 1.76 lakh per 10 grams, while silver touched Rs 3.86 lakh per kg on January 29.
Gold Could Reach Rs 1.60 Lakh
Commodity market experts expect precious metals to remain under focus after their recent decline from record levels.
According to a commodity market assessment, gold could return to around Rs 1.60 lakh per 10 grams by the end of the year, while silver could reach Rs 2.80 lakh per kg.
Experts have also advised investors to avoid putting a large amount into gold or silver at one time and instead consider staggered investments.
Investors can gain exposure to these metals through Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), which track the market prices of gold or silver.
