Patna: Police have launched an investigation after reports emerged of gunfire near the coaching institute of educator and YouTuber Khan Sir in Patna’s Musallahpur area late on Tuesday evening, raising concerns over security in one of the city’s busiest educational hubs.
According to local reports, five to six rounds were allegedly fired near the institute on Tuesday. Posters and banners featuring Khan Sir, which had been displayed along nearby roads, were also reportedly torn down during the incident.
The alleged shooting took place in the Musallahpur Haat locality, where Khan Sir’s coaching centre is situated. The area is known for its concentration of educational institutions and student accommodation.
Police Verifying Reports
Following information about the incident, police teams reached the spot and began an investigation.
Officials are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area and questioning eyewitnesses in an effort to establish the sequence of events and identify those involved.
Situ Kumari, Station House Officer of Musallahpur police station, said police had received information regarding the alleged firing and were in the process of verifying the claims.
Authorities have not yet issued an official statement confirming the number of shots fired, the motive behind the incident, or the identities of those responsible.
Rivalry Angle Under Investigation
While the police investigation remains at an early stage, sources indicated that the incident may be linked to an ongoing rivalry between coaching operators in the area.
According to preliminary information, investigators are examining whether the alleged firing and vandalism could be connected to a dispute involving Khan Sir’s institute and a rival coaching establishment.
