Patna: Health Department Secretary Kumar Ravi on Thursday conducted a detailed review meeting at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) with senior doctors, department heads, and administrative officials. The meeting focused on patient services, infrastructure readiness in the new building, human resources, and overall hospital management.
He reviewed the progress of shifting departments to the new PMCH complex, including relocation of the radiology unit and operational readiness of health services. Emphasising the scale of the new facility, he called for clear and standardised signage across the campus to help patients and attendants navigate departments without difficulty.
Kumar Ravi said that PMCH’s effective functioning depends not only on infrastructure but also on the efficient management of essential services such as cleanliness, maintenance, catering, security, lifts, and air conditioning. He directed the administration to strengthen all support systems to ensure smooth hospital operations.
Human resource availability was also discussed during the meeting. The Health Department Secretary stated that efforts are underway to increase the deployment of medical officers and senior resident doctors, adding that staffing support for PMCH would be prioritised. He also urged doctors to maintain punctuality, deliver services with dedication, and adopt a sensitive approach towards patients.
Prior to the review meeting, Kumar Ravi inspected various sections of the hospital premises. He directed officials to ensure proper functioning of the water filtration plant for uninterrupted supply of clean drinking water. He also visited the PICU and NICU wards to assess facilities and service conditions.
Instructions were also issued to representatives of L&T and BMSICL to prioritise cleanliness and maintenance within the new hospital building and surrounding areas.
The meeting was attended by BMSICL Managing Director Manish Pandey, BSSS Chief Executive Officer Arvind Verma, PMCH Superintendent Dr Rajiv Kumar Singh, along with senior doctors, departmental heads, hospital administrators, and representatives of the construction agency.
