Gayaji: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya organised its third quarterly Hindi workshop on December 31 with the aim of promoting the use of Hindi in official and administrative work. The programme was held to encourage officers and staff to work more comfortably in Hindi and to better understand its role as the official language of the country. Employees from different sections of the institute took part in the workshop with interest and enthusiasm.

The institute’s director, Prof (Dr) Vinita S. Sahay, has been continuously guiding and encouraging such initiatives. Under her leadership, special emphasis has been placed on using Hindi effectively in both administrative and academic activities. These efforts have helped in building a healthy bilingual work culture at IIM Bodh Gaya, where Hindi and English are used together in a balanced and practical manner.

The workshop was conducted by the official language in-charge, Ravindra Kumar. It was inaugurated by the chief administrative officer, Suresh Chandra Thakur, who spoke about the importance of increasing the use of Hindi in daily office work. He said that working in Hindi should be made easier and faster so that official tasks can be completed smoothly without any confusion or delay.

A special session was taken by Amresh Kumar Pandey, a Hindi expert from the Airports Authority of India. He explained the provisions of the Official Languages Act, 1963, and the Official Languages Rules, 1976, in a simple and clear way. He also discussed the common problems faced by officials while working in Hindi and suggested practical solutions to overcome these difficulties.

At the end of the programme, administrative officer Shatrughan Prasad delivered the vote of thanks and encouraged all staff members to make greater use of Hindi in their routine work. Participants said the workshop helped them gain better understanding and confidence in using Hindi as an official language, and motivated them to apply what they learned in their everyday responsibilities.
