Motihari: A large defence exhibition organised by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has begun in Motihari, Bihar, drawing strong public attention, especially from young people. The four-day event is being held at the Mahatma Gandhi Auditorium from 15 to April 18. It will be inaugurated by Radha Mohan Singh, highlighting its importance at the national level.
The main aim of the exhibition is to show India’s progress in defence technology in a simple and public-friendly way. Visitors are getting a close look at models of powerful systems like the BrahMos missile, Agni missile, Prithvi missile, Akash missile, and Pralay missile. These systems show how India is strengthening its defence capabilities and working towards modern, self-reliant technology.
Apart from missiles, the exhibition also features other major defence equipment. The Arjun tank, the Pinaka rocket system, and systems like the ATAGS and Nag missile are on display. Advanced surveillance and defence technologies such as the Uttam AESA radar and drone detection systems are also attracting visitors.
One of the special highlights is the prototype of the Kaveri engine, which represents India’s efforts to build its own aircraft engine technology. Protective gear like ballistic helmets, blast protection suits, and chemical detection systems are also part of the exhibition, showing how soldiers are protected in difficult conditions.
Organisers say the event is not only about showing weapons and machines but also about educating and inspiring students. Many young visitors are learning how science and technology are used in national defence and are showing interest in careers in this field.
The exhibition also supports the idea of Atmanirbhar Bharat, which focuses on making India self-reliant in important sectors like defence. Overall, the event in Motihari is giving people a simple but powerful look at India’s growing strength in defence technology.
