Gayaji: An IndiGo flight from Hyderabad to Darbhanga caused panic among passengers on Monday after it was unexpectedly diverted to Gayaji Airport. Flight 6E537, which was scheduled to land at Darbhanga Airport at 2:20 pm, was rerouted to Gayaji at 2:05 pm. Passengers onboard and those waiting at Darbhanga were left confused and anxious, as no reason for the sudden diversion was provided at the time.
Officials at Gayaji Airport confirmed that the flight landed safely. After completing the necessary formalities, the flight departed again and finally reached Darbhanga Airport at 4:02 pm. The safe arrival brought relief to passengers, though many said they were worried about the unexpected change and the lack of information. IndiGo has not yet issued any official statement regarding the diversion.
Flight diversions, though uncommon, can occur due to various reasons including weather conditions, technical faults, or operational challenges. Passengers at Darbhanga Airport expressed concern, fearing that the flight might have been cancelled. The incident highlights the stress and uncertainty passengers face when flight schedules are suddenly altered without explanation.
Darbhanga Airport receives regular flights from major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Hyderabad. While airlines work to maintain timely operations, incidents like these can create confusion and anxiety. Authorities and airline officials are expected to ensure better communication with passengers in future to prevent panic during similar situations.
