Patna: Patna is making special arrangements to keep the city clean and well-organized during the busy festival season. The Municipal Corporation has set up Quick Response Teams (QRTs) in all zones of the city to handle any sanitation problems quickly. These teams will work actively until October 29, covering the important festivals of Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath.
Municipal Commissioner Animesh Kumar Parashar said the city’s priority is to make festivals safe and enjoyable for everyone. “This QRT arrangement ensures that any sanitation-related problem anywhere in the city is resolved quickly. Our goal is to make sure every citizen can celebrate without any inconvenience,” he said. The teams are tasked with keeping streets, ghats, and public areas clean, and ensuring smooth arrangements for festival activities.
The QRTs have been formed in all six administrative zones of Patna. Each team has ten additional staff members to help with cleaning and monitoring work. Teams have already started inspections, and their work is being tracked with geo-tagged photographs. This allows officials to monitor progress and make sure everything is being done properly.
To prevent pollution of the Ganga and other water bodies, the Municipal Corporation has created artificial ponds in all zones for idol immersion. Residents and puja committees are requested to immerse idols and puja materials only in these ponds. Immersing idols anywhere else may lead to fines and legal action. Some of the main ponds for Durga Puja include Digha Ghat and Pati Pul Ghagh in Pataliputra, Kangan Ghat and Kila Ghat in Patna City, and Bhadra Ghat and Chitragupta Talab in Azimabad. Citizens can also contact the Municipal Corporation helpline at 155304 if they face any problems during the festivals.
The Patna Municipal Corporation has assured that it is fully prepared to serve the city during these festive days and hopes that everyone will cooperate in keeping Patna clean and beautiful.
