Patna: A dedicated voice-based grievance redressal centre for women associated with the Jeevika programme is set to be established in Patna under a new initiative aimed at strengthening women’s empowerment in Bihar.
The centre, called the “Jeevika Didi’s Voice Center”, will be set up under an agreement between Jeevika and the Piramal Foundation for Education Leadership. It will operate from the campus of Chanakya National Law University in Patna and will serve as a central platform to hear and address complaints raised by women through Didi Adhikar Kendras across the state.
According to officials, the centre will allow women—commonly known as “Jeevika Didis”—to lodge grievances over phone calls. Trained professionals will manage the facility, using digital tools and structured grievance mechanisms to record complaints and ensure they are addressed efficiently.
Issues reported through the centre may range from financial transaction concerns and difficulties accessing government schemes to complaints related to violations of social rights. Each case registered through the voice centre will be documented and forwarded for action.
Officials said the centre will go beyond simply recording complaints. Every case will be monitored regularly to ensure timely resolution, offering women a dependable platform to raise concerns and seek support.
The initiative will be run jointly by the university and the foundation, which will support the centre’s operations, training processes and grievance redressal system.
Authorities said the project aims to create a safe and accessible channel for women linked with the Jeevika self-help group network, particularly those in rural areas, enabling them to voice their issues more easily and receive assistance when needed.
