Jehanabad : An FIR has been registered against a school teacher in Jehanabad after a vigilance investigation found that she had secured her job using a fake BEd certificate.
The case was filed at the Jehanabad City Police Station following a complaint by the Vigilance Investigation Bureau, Patna. The complaint was submitted by Vindhyachal Prasad, deputy superintendent of police in the bureau.
According to officials, the accused teacher, Sangeeta Kumari, was appointed in 2015 to a higher secondary school in Kesar Bagh, Khaira, through the district council recruitment process.
She is alleged to have submitted a forged BEd training certificate at the time of her appointment. The certificate was claimed to be issued by Gauhati University.
An investigation was initiated after a complaint raised doubts about the authenticity of her documents. During verification in 2023, the submitted certificate was found to be fake. A subsequent re-verification in January 2026 confirmed that the document was entirely forged.
Following these findings, the vigilance department lodged a formal complaint, leading to the registration of an FIR by local police.
Officials at the police station said legal action is now being pursued in accordance with the findings of the investigation. The case has also triggered concern among other teachers, as authorities have indicated that similar cases involving fake certificates are under scrutiny as part of a broader review.
