Bhabhua: Supporters of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate in the Ramgarh Assembly constituency in Bihar’s Kaimur district staged a violent protest late on Friday, blocking a key road and hurling stones at the counting centre after alleging irregularities in the ongoing vote count.
According to officials, a group of BSP workers first blocked the Ramgarh–Mohania road, accusing authorities of manipulating the count. The demonstration quickly escalated, with protesters moving towards the main gate of the counting centre and pelting stones. Police personnel deployed to disperse the crowd were attacked.
Two policemen sustained serious head injuries and were immediately treated by a medical team. Several other officers suffered minor injuries as they attempted to control the situation. Some police personnel were forced to retreat briefly under pressure from the crowd.

Additional police forces were later rushed to the area, but despite efforts to restore order, the blockade remained in place and the protest continued into the night. The situation remained tense at the time of writing.
Senior police officers, including the Kaimur Superintendent of Police and the Deputy Superintendent of Police, were present at the scene to supervise the response.
BSP supporters claimed that their candidate was defeated last year due to alleged rigging during the counting process and accused officials of attempting similar manipulation this time. Police said efforts were ongoing to pacify the crowd and clear the road.
