Patna: The investigation into the attack on Khan Global Studies in Patna has entered a new phase after a rival coaching institute released a video that it claims shows the circumstances surrounding alleged gunfire during the incident.
The development comes days after a violent altercation at the coaching centre, which involved stone-pelting, vandalism and allegations of firing. Police have now expanded their inquiry and detained two individuals associated with Khan Global Studies for questioning.
Officials have not yet issued a detailed statement regarding the latest development, but confirmed that investigations are continuing.
Rival Coaching Institute Releases Video
The video was released during a press conference by Adarsh, a representative of Gyan Bindu Coaching.
He alleged that the firing incident was part of a pre-planned conspiracy and claimed that the footage indicated that shots were fired by a security guard associated with Khan Global Studies.
Adarsh further argued that Gyan Bindu Coaching director Roshan Anand does not appear in the video and called for an impartial investigation into the entire episode, including the role of Khan Sir and his associates.
He also demanded that investigators examine all aspects of the incident before drawing conclusions.
Police Intensify Probe
Following the emergence of the video, police visited Khan Global Studies on Thursday and brought two individuals in for questioning.
According to sources, investigators are examining the new footage alongside previously collected evidence, including CCTV recordings and witness statements.
The questioning is part of an effort to establish the sequence of events and determine whether any firearms were used during the incident.
Background To The Incident
The clash occurred at around 10pm on June 2 at Khan Global Studies in the Kadamkuan area of Patna.
According to the complaint filed in the case, a group of individuals allegedly entered the premises, assaulted a security guard, pelted stones and damaged property. Posters and banners were also reportedly torn during the disturbance.
Soon after the incident, Khan Sir initially claimed that eight to ten rounds of gunfire had been exchanged. He later clarified that his statement had been made amid confusion and tension at the scene and was based on information provided by guards and others present.
Subsequently, he said the facts became clearer after verification.
Police have previously stated that their investigation had found no evidence so far to substantiate claims that gunfire took place during the incident.
Earlier Arrests
The case has already led to the arrest of Gyan Bindu Coaching director Roshan Anand and two associates, identified as Abhishek and Gaurav.
All three were produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody in Beur Jail.
Following his arrest, Roshan Anand denied any wrongdoing and alleged that he was being framed. He maintained that police had not confirmed any firing during the incident and claimed efforts were being made to damage the reputation of his institution.
He said he had full faith in the judicial process and was confident that the truth would emerge.
Investigation Continues
Police are currently examining CCTV footage, the newly released video, witness accounts and other technical evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.
Officials have indicated that conclusions regarding the alleged firing, the identities of those involved and the circumstances surrounding the clash will depend on the outcome of the inquiry.
The case has attracted considerable attention in Patna’s coaching sector, where competition among major institutes has intensified in recent years.
