Patna: In a significant development in the Patna firing and coaching dispute case, Khan Sir has secured interim relief from the court, while Gyan Bindu Coaching Director Roshan Anand has suffered a setback after his bail application was rejected.
Roshan Anand, who is currently lodged in jail in connection with the case, had approached the court seeking bail. After hearing the arguments, the court dismissed his plea, observing that the grounds presented were not sufficient to grant relief at this stage. The decision is considered important in view of the ongoing investigation.
Court Stays Arrest of Khan Sir
Meanwhile, the Patna Civil Court heard Khan Sir’s anticipatory bail petition on Tuesday and granted him interim protection from arrest. The court directed the police to submit the case diary and ordered that no coercive action be taken against him until the next hearing or further orders.
Advocate Arvind Kumar Mahuar, appearing for Khan Sir, argued that the firing incident took place in self-defence and was not intended to create fear or panic. He informed the court that the next hearing on the anticipatory bail plea has been scheduled for June 20.
Serious Charges Registered
Khan Sir, the Director of Khan Global Studies, is facing allegations including attempt to murder and the alleged illegal use of firearms. His anticipatory bail application was filed before the District and Sessions Court earlier this week.
Order Reserved on Guards’ Bail Pleas
The court also heard the bail applications of security guards Deepak Kumar and Talebar Singh, who were arrested in connection with the case on June 4. Following arguments from both sides, the court sought additional evidence from the police and reserved its order.
The court of Judge Anurag Verma is expected to pronounce its decision on the two bail pleas on June 10.
