Patna: Popular educator and YouTuber Khan Sir on Saturday approached the Patna Civil Court seeking anticipatory bail amid fears of arrest in a criminal case linked to the recent firing incident at his coaching institute in the state capital.
Khan Sir, whose reported name is Faisal Khan, filed the anticipatory bail petition along with his two personal security guards. According to court sources, the application was submitted before the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Anurag Verma.
The development comes as police continue their investigation into the incident that unfolded at Khan Global Studies earlier this week and has since sparked widespread public and political attention.
Petition Filed Amid Fear Of Arrest
According to sources familiar with the case, Khan Sir moved the court after the registration of a criminal case in which he and his two security personnel have come under police scrutiny.
A large number of supporters and media personnel gathered at the court complex following reports of his arrival.
In his petition, Khan Sir stated that he is willing to cooperate fully with the investigation and argued that he fears unnecessary arrest during the course of the probe. The application seeks protection from arrest until the matter is heard and adjudicated by the court.
Anticipatory bail is a legal remedy that allows an individual to seek protection from arrest when there is a reasonable apprehension of being taken into custody in connection with a criminal case.

Police Probe Continues
The case stems from the June 2 attack on Khan Global Studies, during which a group of individuals allegedly entered the premises, assaulted security personnel, vandalised property and engaged in stone-pelting.
Subsequently, videos emerged showing two security guards associated with the coaching institute firing weapons outside the premises. Police later arrested both guards and seized their firearms as part of the investigation.
Investigators have since questioned Khan Sir and registered a separate case relating to the firing incident.
While police officials have not issued a detailed public statement on the anticipatory bail application, the prosecution is expected to place its findings before the court during the hearing.

The case has attracted significant attention because of Khan Sir’s popularity among students preparing for competitive examinations across India. His coaching platform and online educational content command a large following on social media and digital platforms.
