Patna: A political dispute in Bihar involving security arrangements and official residences for senior leaders of the Rashtriya Janata Dal has intensified, with fresh developments both in Patna and abroad drawing attention.

The controversy comes as former Chief Minister Rabri Devi and Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav returned their security personnel in protest against a reported reduction in their security cover.

At the same time, a video of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has surfaced from Singapore, where he is currently undergoing medical-related stay, showing him taking a morning walk.

Video from Singapore

The video, shared on social media platform X by Rohini Acharya, shows Lalu Prasad Yadav walking by the seaside. She accompanied the post with an emotional message highlighting the importance of her father’s values and personal influence in her life.

The visuals have circulated widely amid the ongoing political debate in Bihar.

Security and Residence Dispute in Patna

In Patna, tensions escalated after Rabri Devi reportedly sent back security personnel stationed at her residence following changes in her security cover. The move was described by RJD members as a symbolic protest.

Separately, Rabri Devi has also received a notice to vacate the government-allotted residence at 10 Circular Road, adding to the political friction.

Political Reactions and Allegations

The RJD has criticised the state government’s decisions on security reduction, alleging political motivation behind the move. Rohini Acharya also raised concerns on social media, claiming the decision could endanger family members, while stating that the people of Bihar remain their strongest support base.

The government, however, has not issued a detailed public response on the allegations. The developments have further sharpened the political divide between the ruling side and the opposition in Bihar.
