Muzaffarpur/Patna: Langat Singh College, a constituent unit of B. R. Ambedkar Bihar University, held its induction ceremony, “Deeksharambh”, on Friday to welcome the 2025–27 postgraduate cohort.
The event, organised at the Acharya Kripalani Auditorium, was presided over by vice-chancellor Dinesh Chandra Rai, with Subrat Kumar Sen, district magistrate of Muzaffarpur, attending as the chief guest.
Principal Kanupriya inaugurated the programme, outlining plans to transform the institution into a student-centric, technologically advanced “skill hub” aligned with contemporary educational needs.
Focus On Integrity And Self-Development
Addressing the new students, Sen emphasised the importance of self-growth and professional integrity, urging them to approach their studies with sincerity.
He encouraged students to make use of government schemes related to startups and sports, while also advocating responsible and productive use of social media.
Education Beyond Marks
In his address, Rai said higher education should go beyond academic performance, stressing the role of character and values.
He urged students to set clear goals, manage their time effectively and treat mistakes as learning opportunities, adding that maintaining ethical conduct would help uphold the university’s reputation.
Faculty Participation
The event was coordinated by Shashikant Pandey, NSS programme officer, and concluded with a vote of thanks by NCC officer Rajeev Kumar.
Several faculty members, including T. K. Dey, Pushpa Kumari, Rajiv Jha, Shailendra Sinha and others, were present at the ceremony, which saw a large turnout of students and staff.
The induction programme marked the beginning of the academic journey for the new batch, with an emphasis on skill development, discipline and holistic growth.
