Patna: In a significant political development ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, the Jan Suraaj Party (JSUPA) has gained a key member from the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas). A senior LJP-Ram Vilas leader, Saurabh, joined the JSUPA on Sunday, marking another shift in the state’s fast-changing political landscape.
Saurabh, a resident of Aurangabad, has an extensive professional background in the banking sector, having held senior roles at ICICI Bank and Yes Bank, including Vice President and Country Head of Securitization. He joined the LJP a decade ago and served as its spokesperson and co-organizational leader.
Welcoming Saurabh to the party, JSUPA National President Uday Singh said his inclusion would strengthen the party’s economic vision for Bihar. Singh asserted that with the expertise of professionals like Saurabh, Bihar could attract investments and secure loans worth ₹5–6 lakh crore from the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund if the JSUPA forms the next government.
The induction ceremony was attended by JSUPA state president Manoj Bharti, state general secretary Kishore Kumar, and senior leaders Sudhir Sharma and Sarwar Ali.
Speaking to reporters, Uday Singh praised LJP-Ram Vilas chief Chirag Paswan for his work in Bihar, saying, “Chirag is doing good work for the state. We want him to merge his party with the Jan Suraaj Party and work together for Bihar’s development.”
Saurabh, while clarifying that he had no personal differences with Chirag Paswan, said his political aspirations required more active engagement. “There is no rift with Chirag, but my desire to take to the streets and fight for people’s issues was not being fulfilled within the LJP-Ram Vilas. That energy will now find its purpose within the Jan Suraaj Party,” he said.
