Patna/Darbhanga: Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU) has announced the schedule for PhD registration under the PhD Admission Test (PAT)-2023, with eligible research scholars invited to submit applications between August 5 and August 30, 2026.
The university said the registration process is open only to candidates who have successfully completed the mandatory coursework and whose research synopsis has been approved by the Postgraduate Research Council or the University Research Council.
Eligibility criteria
According to the Controller of Examinations, only scholars meeting both eligibility conditions will be permitted to register for their PhD programme.
Candidates whose synopsis has not yet received formal approval will not be eligible to participate in the current registration process.
Applications through departments only
The university has directed applicants not to submit their forms directly to the university.
Instead, all applications must be forwarded through the Head of the respective postgraduate department. Applications without the signature and recommendation of the Head of Department will not be accepted.
Verification of documents
LNMU has instructed Heads of Departments to scrutinise all applications before forwarding them to the university’s Research Branch.
Department heads have been asked to verify that all required documents are attached and to ensure timely submission so that the registration process is completed without delay.
Required documents
Applicants must submit self-attested copies of the following documents along with the registration form:
- Letter issued by the university’s Research Branch for registration
- PAT or NET qualification certificate or result
- Coursework admission receipt
- Coursework completion certificate
- University registration certificate
- Postgraduate marksheet
The university’s decision is expected to benefit hundreds of research scholars who have been awaiting the commencement of the PhD registration process under PAT-2023.
