Patna: Two students from Ludhiana have taken the top position in a national school crossword contest. Anhad Kaur and Divya Dhiman of BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School came first in the second online round of the National Inter-School Cryptic Crossword Contest (CCCC) 13.0. Their teamwork and problem-solving skills helped them beat competitors from across the country.
The competition leaderboard has changed since the last round. Earlier leaders from DPS Patna, Nanya Dev Singh and Tanmay Kashyap, have slipped to sixth place. Second place went to solo participant Abhishek Dhanda, while Sahil S Sabne and Raaghav S Kanegaonkar from SES Gurukul, Pune, came third.
Winners have also been announced at the state level. They include Dhairya Pandey from Don Bosco Academy, Patna; Arnav Gupta and Shashank Gowda from Telangana; and Deev Pandey with Aditi Matta from Madhya Pradesh, among others. Students from states like Maharashtra, Delhi, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh also topped their state rounds.
To give more students a chance, offline city rounds are being held. Patna and Bhopal will host their rounds on Tuesday. Delhi, Guwahati, and Ahmedabad will follow later this month. These events will help decide who reaches the CCCC 13.0 grand finale, set to take place after the third online round on 17 August. The contest aims to improve students’ vocabulary, reasoning, and teamwork while making learning fun.
