Patna: The Masaurhi Mor–Zero Mile road has been completely closed from Tuesday for construction work expected to continue for 45 days. Vehicle movement on the stretch has been prohibited during the construction period.
Police and the administration have introduced traffic diversions to manage vehicle movement and reduce congestion around the affected area.
Alternative Routes Announced
Vehicles travelling towards the west have been directed to take the U-turn near Vijaynagar, about 1km beyond Masaurhi Mor, before continuing towards their destination via Gandhi Setu.
Vehicles approaching from the bypass will be directed over the Zero Mile flyover. The diversion is intended to reduce pressure on the road below and maintain traffic flow during the construction.
Commuters Likely To Face Delays
The closure is expected to affect local residents, shopkeepers and daily commuters using the route. Increased traffic near the Vijaynagar U-turn and Zero Mile flyover could lead to longer travel times, particularly during peak hours.
Shopkeepers along the closed stretch may also face reduced customer movement during the construction period.
Work Expected To Take 45 Days
The construction agency has said the work is expected to be completed within the stipulated 45-day period. The closure will remain in place during the construction to facilitate the work.
Once completed, the reconstructed road is expected to improve vehicle movement on the stretch and address longstanding traffic congestion in the area.
