Muzaffarpur: A sense of shock gripped residents of Terma village in Muzaffarpur on Saturday morning after the body of a 35-year-old man was discovered in a litchi orchard under Ahiyapur police station limits.

The deceased, identified as Dinesh alias Amit Kumar, was a resident of Khanpur alias Vaidyanathpur in the same area. According to police, preliminary investigation suggests foul play, with visible injury marks found on his neck.

Sub-inspector Ramdeep Kumar, who is leading the probe, confirmed that the incident appears to be a case of murder. Dinesh, who had been unemployed for over a month, was reportedly seeking work after leaving a job at a motor company. His family said he had been living apart from his wife due to personal differences since their marriage two years ago.

His brother, Rajesh Kumar, an employee of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), stated that Dinesh had left home on Friday morning and did not return by night. The family launched a search on their own, but with no leads. On Saturday morning, they were informed about the body.

Upon arrival at the scene, the victim’s mother broke down in grief, while his brother and father were also inconsolable. The family insisted that Dinesh had no known disputes or enemies.
