Patna: In a major boost for civil service aspirants from Bihar and Jharkhand, the Network of Advanced Civil Services (NACS) has announced the launch of its Interview Guidance Programme (IGP), which will feature offline mock interviews in Patna for the first time. The programme, aimed at candidates who have cleared the UPSC Civil Services Main examination, will also run in Delhi and online. Registration is free via the organisation’s website.
NACS said the decision to expand the programme to Patna was intended to make interview preparation more accessible for students in their home states, offering them direct mentorship from senior serving and retired civil service officers with extensive administrative experience.
For those unable to travel, the organisation will continue to offer virtual sessions as it did last year. Candidates have been urged to register soon to secure their mock interview slots and receive updates via social media channels on Twitter and Facebook.
Background
NACS was established in 2014 by B.K. Prasad, a 1983-batch IAS officer, alongside other senior officials from Bihar and Jharkhand, with the aim of providing free, high-quality support to aspirants from the region. Over recent years, the organisation has run similar programmes for the preliminary, main and interview stages of the UPSC exam. Last year, more than half of the 58 candidates associated with NACS were selected.
Programme details
The IGP is offered free of charge and is facilitated entirely by civil service officers. The interview panel includes senior and younger officials from the IAS, IPS, IRTS and IRS, with more than 100 officers participating as panellists this year. Registered candidates will also be added to a dedicated WhatsApp group for round-the-clock doubt resolution.
The programme includes specialised sessions on hobbies, optional subjects, current affairs, and state and international issues.
Key panellists
Senior officers taking part include:
- B.K. Prasad, IAS (1983), former Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs
- Arun Kumar, IPS (1985), former Director General, Railway Protection Force
- Amita Prasad, IAS (1985), former Additional Chief Secretary, Karnataka
- Parvez Hayat, IPS (1984), former Director General, Jharkhand Police
Santosh Kumar, NACS coordinator and a 2014-batch IAS officer, said preparations were complete and the team was committed to offering robust support to candidates.
With thousands of aspirants from Bihar and Jharkhand appearing for the exam each year, organisers expect strong participation and hope to replicate last year’s success.
