Patna: Janshakti Janata Dal chief Tej Pratap Yadav is facing serious allegations after a close aide, popularly known as his ‘Hanuman’, claimed he was assaulted and filmed in a compromising state at the former minister’s residence.
Saurabh Yadav, also known as Avinash, released a video on social media alleging that he was beaten by a group of 20–25 men at Tej Pratap’s government residence, identified as House No. 26. In the video, he alleges that his phone was seized for several hours and that he was coerced into recording statements against other individuals. He also alleged that an objectionable video was filmed without his consent.
Saurabh, who has publicly supported Tej Pratap in the past and is known for his viral videos praising the leader, said he had worked tirelessly to mobilise votes for him but was rewarded with “humiliation” and “a torn turban”.
He claimed he was summoned to the residence after attending a reception hosted by YouTuber Khan Sir. “I went there with a cake, but I was attacked. They demanded my phone and took me aside. When I refused to take certain names, they beat me. I was assaulted in front of Tej Pratap,” he said, adding that his car tyres were punctured before he was allowed to leave.
“The more intensely you campaign, the more likely you are to be humiliated,” he said tearfully in the video, adding that he feels “ashamed to have considered Tej Pratap his leader”. He stated that he intends to pursue legal action and “strongly condemns” the incident.
There has been no response or statement from Tej Pratap Yadav or his representatives so far.
