Sonepur/Patna: North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL) Managing Director Rahul Kumar visited Sonepur to review consumer services, power infrastructure and the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
During the visit, Kumar inspected the Bill Correction Camp at the Sonepur Sub-Division and interacted with consumers who had approached the camp with billing-related complaints. He directed officials to ensure that such grievances are resolved promptly and that consumers do not face unnecessary delays.
Focus on faster resolution of billing complaints
The NBPDCL Managing Director instructed officials to improve the quality of consumer services and ensure transparency and accountability while handling complaints.
He emphasized that bill correction cases should be addressed within the stipulated timeframe and that consumers should receive timely assistance.
Power substation inspected
Kumar subsequently inspected the Sonepur Power Substation, where he reviewed the existing power supply system, functioning of the substation and available facilities.
Officials were directed to take necessary measures to ensure uninterrupted and quality power supply and continuously improve consumer services.
During the inspection, Kumar also planted saplings on the substation premises, highlighting the importance of environmental protection.
Push for PM Surya Ghar solar scheme
The MD also visited premises where solar plants have been installed under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
He directed officials to step up implementation of the scheme and encourage more consumers to adopt rooftop solar systems. Officials were also asked to create greater public awareness about the benefits of solar energy and promote the use of clean energy.
Kumar emphasized that consumer service should remain the highest priority for officers and employees, with departmental work carried out with transparency, promptness and accountability.
The inspection was attended by Electrical Superintending Engineer, Chapra Circle, Ritesh Kumar; Executive Engineer, Chapra East, Prem Raj; Executive Engineer, MRT Chapra; representatives of the ULA agency and other senior officials.
