Jalalpur/Patna: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday said that the day was not far when Bihar’s roads would be better than those in America, as he underlined the government’s focus on accelerating infrastructure growth across the state.
Addressing an election rally in Jalalpur in support of the JD(U) candidate from the Manjhi assembly constituency, Gadkari said, “There is no shortage of funds. Roads will be built wherever they are needed. India has made historic progress in road construction under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, and Bihar will be connected with this pace of development.”
He said that the country had established a new global identity in infrastructure development, which was also helping transform the lives of farmers. Gadkari added that the government’s vision extended beyond roads and highways, focusing equally on energy and agriculture.
“In the coming years, vehicles will run on biofuel, ethanol, and CNG, bringing direct benefits to farmers,” he said, adding that tractors running on ethanol and CNG were in the pipeline. “We are not only working on smart cities but also on how to make smart villages,” he added.
Gadkari also emphasised the government’s goal of linking farming with energy production to strengthen the rural economy. “The diesel plant will help farmers earn additional income and revolutionise the country’s energy sector,” he said.
He praised Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, calling his contributions to development and women’s empowerment in Bihar “historic” and “worthy of being written in golden letters.”
As Bihar heads into the first phase of polling, Gadkari’s remarks are being seen as part of the NDA’s broader campaign narrative highlighting development, infrastructure expansion, and rural transformation under the Modi government.
