Patna: The Regional Passport Office (RPO), Patna, under the Ministry of External Affairs, will organise a three-day Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp at the Collectorate Campus in Siwan from August 23 to 25. The initiative is part of the Centre’s “Passport Seva – Passport at Your Doorstep” programme, aimed at making passport services more accessible for citizens.
According to the RPO, the camp has been organised in view of the increasing number of passport applications received from Siwan and is being conducted in collaboration with the district administration.
165 Appointments Scheduled Across Three Days
The Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp will offer 165 appointment slots, with 55 appointments available each day.
Applicants can book appointments through the Passport Seva Portal by selecting “Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp, Collectorate Campus – Siwan” as their preferred appointment location.
Camp to Be Inaugurated on August 23
The camp will be jointly inaugurated on August 23 by Siwan District Magistrate Vivek Ranjan Maitrey and Regional Passport Officer Swadha Rizvi, according to the Ministry of External Affairs.
Applicants Asked to Carry Required Documents
Officials have advised applicants to book appointments only through the official Passport Seva Portal and ensure all mandatory documents are complete before visiting the camp.
Applicants have also been asked to report at the venue according to the time mentioned in their appointment confirmation to facilitate smooth processing.
Updated Passport Fees to Apply
The RPO said the revised passport application fee, notified by the Ministry of External Affairs and effective from July 1, 2026, will apply to all applications submitted during the camp.
Applicants have been advised to verify the applicable fee and eligibility criteria before submitting their applications.
20th Mobile Passport Camp Since April 2024
According to the Regional Passport Office, this will be the 20th Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp organised by RPO Patna since April 2024.
Nearly 2,700 passport applications have been processed through similar outreach camps across Bihar during this period.
The upcoming event will also be the third Mobile Passport Seva Camp in Siwan, following similar camps held in December 2024 and January 2025. Officials said the response to the earlier camps highlighted the growing demand for passport services in the district.
Technology-Driven Passport Services
The Ministry of External Affairs said it continues to modernise passport services through technology-enabled initiatives. Applicants have been encouraged to use DigiLocker, wherever applicable, for the secure submission and verification of documents to reduce reliance on physical paperwork and speed up processing.

The Regional Passport Office has advised citizens to rely only on official sources for passport-related information and avoid unauthorised agents or intermediaries. Officials also urged applicants to ensure that application forms and supporting documents are complete before attending the camp.
