Patna: Patna police arrested a young man from the airport campus on Saturday after he was found in possession of a fake Army identity card, suspicious documents, and photos linked to Pakistan and militant groups.
The suspect has been identified as Shivam Sharma, also known as Shivam Kumar, son of Santosh Kumar, a resident of Sisoni Prabodhi village in Vaishali district.
Police said Sharma had been moving around the airport campus on a Bullet bike for several days. Acting on a tip-off, officers stopped him near the arrival terminal at 5pm on September 26. He was wearing an ID card with “Ministry of Home Affairs” written on it and claimed to be a field officer. The card was later found to be fake.
During interrogation, Sharma admitted that he had prepared the forged ID cards at home using a laptop and printer. He also claimed to own a Navy uniform.

A search of his belongings yielded multiple items, including a military-style green bag, a small medical pouch, a Bellavita water bottle, two mobile phones, photos of improvised explosive device components, and forged IDs in the name of several organisations, including the Indian Mujahideen Jammu Kashmir. Police also seized his Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle (registration number BR-31-BE-0485).
Investigators said photos of individuals with Pakistani flags were found on his phone, which are being analysed for possible extremist links.
An FIR has been registered at Patna Airport police station. Patna Central SP Diksha confirmed that the probe is ongoing. “The youth is being interrogated, and all aspects of his background and activities are under scrutiny,” she said.
SHO Jitendra Rana added that Sharma had been under observation for his suspicious movements and was taken into custody immediately after his false credentials were exposed.
