Patna: A major digital infrastructure project is set to come up in the Bihta area of Patna, bringing new hope for employment and technological growth in Bihar. The state government has approved the establishment of a data and call centre hub in Sikandarpur, with an estimated investment of Rs 50.75 crore. The project is expected to generate around 450 jobs, offering new opportunities to young people in and around the region.
The initiative is part of a broader push by the state government to strengthen Bihar’s presence in the information technology sector. The facility will be developed by Sanjeevani Media and Technology Private Limited, while land allocation is being handled by the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority. Officials say the approval of the project reflects the government’s intention to attract private investment and build modern infrastructure within the state.
In addition to call centre operations and data services, the hub will also offer advanced facilities for film editing and digital processing. This is expected to benefit local filmmakers, who often have to travel to cities like Delhi and Mumbai for post-production work. With such services becoming available locally, production costs could come down, and more creative projects may emerge from Bihar.
State industries minister Dilip Jaiswal and senior official Kundan Kumar have highlighted that the project will directly benefit students and graduates from fields such as IT, computer science and animation. The government also hopes that such initiatives will reduce migration of young talent to other states and help build a stronger, self-reliant economy in Bihar driven by technology and innovation
