Patna: The Municipal Commissioner of Patna, Animesh Kumar Parashar, has issued show cause notices to 18 workers after finding negligence in the implementation of the city’s “Har Din Har Gali” cleanliness campaign.
During a review meeting on Monday, lapses were detected in door-to-door garbage collection and vehicle operations under both the “Har Din Har Gali” and “No Plastic Fantastic” initiatives. Expressing concern, the commissioner said that inefficiency in the service not only inconveniences citizens but also damages the image of the corporation.
To ensure accountability, the corporation has directed that executive officers personally supervise the daily dispatch of garbage collection vehicles between 6.00 am and 8.00 am, uploading GPS-enabled photos as proof. Additionally, from 12.00 pm to 2.00 pm, officers must monitor vehicle repairs at workshops and submit photographic evidence.
In a push for stricter fogging operations, one worker per ward will now be required to accompany fogging vehicles, with videos of work and citizen feedback to be recorded. Officials have been warned that disciplinary action will follow any non-compliance with these orders, which have been implemented with immediate effect.
Appealing to residents for cooperation, the commissioner said citizen partnership is essential for a “Clean Patna.” Complaints related to cleanliness can be registered on helpline number 155304 and will be addressed on time.
