Patna: No negligence will be tolerated in security arrangements for the upcoming Bihar Assembly session, District Magistrate Patna Dr Thiagarajan SM warned on Friday. Addressing a joint briefing of magistrates, police officers, and police forces in the Assembly premises, Dr Thiagarajan emphasised that all officials must arrive at their deputation points an hour before proceedings each day and remain vigilant.
The fifteenth session of the Bihar Legislature is scheduled from July 21 to July 25. A joint security briefing was held by Dr Thiagarajan and Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya Sharma to ensure law and order, traffic management, and airtight security during the session. Both officers also reviewed security arrangements on-site.
Dr Thiagarajan stated that a three-tier security protocol has been established, with monitoring through CCTV cameras and deployment of eight Quick Response Teams. He directed all deputed officials to report to their posts by 9.00 am on July 21 and maintain this timing daily. No one may leave their deputation until the day’s proceedings conclude.
Strict instructions were given to prevent the entry of any unauthorised persons. “If any unauthorised person enters, the magistrate and police officer posted there will be held responsible,” Dr Thiagarajan said. Entry to the Secretariat, Legislative Assembly, and Legislative Council areas will be allowed only with valid passes.
A senior officer will coordinate with all magistrates and police officers from the control room set up within the Assembly premises to ensure seamless implementation of directives.
The Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Patna Sadar has been instructed to implement prohibitory orders under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code as a precautionary measure. The Sub-Divisional Officer, Patna Sadar and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Secretariat will oversee law and order throughout the session.
Dr Thiagarajan and Kartikeya Sharma, along with senior officials including Additional Collector Law and Order Rajesh Roshan, Additional Collector Special Program Ravindra Kumar Diwakar, and Additional Collector General Khageshchandra Jha, were present at the briefing, directing all magistrates and police officers to remain alert, ready, and committed to ensuring flawless security arrangements.
