Patna: A senior official of the metro rail project on Tuesday inspected a key section of the upcoming Patna Metro corridor, reviewing safety measures and operational preparedness ahead of the start of services.
Sudhir Kumar, deputy chief service secretary of the Metro Rail Corporation, conducted a detailed inspection of the stretch between Khemnichak and Malahi Pakari stations, which forms part of the Patna Metro’s priority corridor. The visit focused on assessing readiness for the commencement of metro operations along the route.
Officials said the inspection covered critical infrastructure, passenger facilities and safety systems to ensure the corridor meets operational standards.
During the visit, Kumar reviewed multiple technical installations including the UPS room, elevators and escalators, the auxiliary substation (ASS) room, the station control room (SCR) and the platform level infrastructure. He also examined overhead equipment (OHE) height measurements along the corridor.
The inspection further included checks of electrical and mechanical (E&M) systems and other essential installations required for safe metro operations.
Authorities said the continuous inspection and testing of the priority corridor is part of the final stages of preparation before the metro system becomes operational, bringing Patna closer to introducing a modern urban transport network for residents.
