Patna: The Patna Metro project has achieved another major construction milestone, with slab work on the elevated corridor between Khemnichak and Mithapur now complete, paving the way for the next phase of track installation.
The development marks a significant step in the construction of the first metro corridor, which is expected to improve connectivity between the eastern and central parts of the state capital.
Project Enters Track-Laying Phase
With the completion of slab placement along the elevated section, construction agencies are preparing to begin laying metro tracks.
The work follows the completion of key civil engineering stages, including the construction of pillars, U-girders and elevated station structures.
According to project officials, track installation will be carried out in phases to keep the project on schedule for future operations.

Technical Work To Follow
Once track laying begins, engineers will proceed with the installation of fastening systems and other technical components required for metro operations.
The subsequent phases of construction will include overhead electrification, signalling systems, telecommunications infrastructure and trial runs before passenger services can commence.
Officials said these activities will be executed in sequence as different sections of the corridor become ready.
Station Construction Continues
Alongside work on the elevated corridor, construction agencies are continuing station development across the route.
Finishing work, along with the installation of electrical and mechanical systems, is progressing simultaneously to prepare stations for operational readiness.

Faster Travel Across Eastern Patna
The first metro corridor is expected to significantly improve public transport connectivity between Khemnichak and Mithapur once completed.
Residents of Khemnichak, Malahi Pakri, Bhutnath Road, Zero Mile, New Bypass and Mithapur are expected to benefit from faster and more reliable travel.
