Patna: Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) will conduct ‘Sahyog Camps’ across multiple city zones on Tuesday to enable residents to register complaints, suggestions and service-related issues.
The initiative follows directions from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and is part of the Bihar government’s broader public grievance system, Sahyog, aimed at ensuring faster, transparent and time-bound resolution of complaints.
Officials said citizens would be able to submit applications not only for civic issues linked to PMC but also for matters concerning other government departments.
Six locations identified across Patna
The camps will be organised in six civic zones across the city:
- Nutan Rajdhani Zone: Khajpura Community Hall (Ward 4)
- Patliputra Zone: R.S. Darbar Community Hall, Ashiana Nagar Phase-2 (Ward 2)
- Kankarbagh Zone: Community Hall, Dasratha (Ward 30)
- Bankipur Zone: Community Hall, Kadamkuan (Ward 38)
- Azimabad Zone: Gulzarbagh Stadium (Ward 53)
- Patna City Zone: Tourist Facilitation Centre (Ward 66)
PMC said residents can visit any of the listed camps, regardless of their ward, to submit their applications.
Offline camps held twice a month
The civic body said offline Sahyog Camps are held on the first and third Tuesday of every month to reduce the need for repeated visits to government offices.
Applications received at the camps are uploaded to the Sahyog portal under a defined process. Each complaint is assigned a unique reference number, allowing applicants to track progress and monitor disposal status.
Residents can also revisit future camps with their reference number to seek updates on previously registered complaints.
Online complaints can also be filed
The Bihar government’s Sahyog portal also allows residents to file complaints, grievances and suggestions online from home.
Once a complaint is registered, the system automatically generates a reference number and forwards the application to the concerned department for action.
PMC said the digital platform has helped make the grievance redressal process more transparent and accountable.
Over 98% of applications resolved
According to PMC data available till Thursday, a total of 463 applications have been received through the Sahyog portal and camps.
Of these, 452 complaints have been resolved, taking the disposal rate to more than 98%.
The corporation said pending cases are under review and are being processed by the relevant departments. Under existing guidelines, complaints are to be resolved within a maximum of 10 days.
PMC appeals for public participation
PMC said applications received at the headquarters level are being monitored regularly to avoid delays in disposal.
The civic body appealed to residents to make use of both the offline camps and the online portal to register their grievances and participate in the public service delivery mechanism.
