Patna: Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has enhanced its mobile application with new Ward Finder features aimed at improving citizen access to civic services and local administration.
Under the updated system, residents will be able to identify their ward through location services and obtain contact details of ward-level officials directly through the application.
One-Click Access to Ward Officials
Once users select the “Find Your Ward” option, the application will display the ward number along with the names and contact details of key civic officials.
These include the Executive Officer, City Manager, Executive Engineer, Assistant Engineer, Chief Sanitary Inspector (CSI) and Sanitary Inspector (SI), as well as the elected ward councillor.
Officials said the feature is intended to help residents report issues and seek assistance without visiting municipal offices.
WhatsApp-Based Grievance Support
The application also includes a WhatsApp chatbot service for citizen engagement.
Users seeking information on property tax or other municipal services can access the chatbot directly through the app. The service allows residents to submit complaints, raise queries and seek information through WhatsApp.
Digital Ward Maps Introduced
PMC has also integrated a ward mapping feature into the application.
Residents can view the geographical boundaries of their ward by selecting the relevant ward number. Ward limits have been marked digitally and can be explored using zoom-in and zoom-out functions.
Users can also reset the map view and navigate between different wards. Officials said further location-based details will be added as the mapping system is updated.
Access to Civic Infrastructure Information
The corporation plans to launch the upgraded application after completing remaining development work.
According to officials, the platform will eventually provide digital records of civic infrastructure, including roads, drains, pipelines, parks, public toilets, cremation grounds and parking facilities.
Residents will also be able to locate nearby municipal offices and public amenities across different wards.
Part of Digital Governance Initiative
Officials said the upgraded application is part of the corporation’s broader “Digital Patna” initiative aimed at improving transparency, accessibility and delivery of civic services through technology.
The civic body expects the platform to strengthen communication between residents and municipal authorities while improving access to local information and public services.
