Arwal: In a first for the district, the Regional Passport Office in Patna is set to launch a Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp at the Indoor Stadium, Collectorate Complex, Arwal, on December 2. The initiative aims to address the growing demand for passport services and the absence of a dedicated Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) in the district.
The camp, inaugurated by Swadha Rizvi, Regional Passport Officer, Patna, and Abhilasha Sharma, District Magistrate of Arwal, will accept fresh and reissue passport applications, issuing 55 appointment slots daily. Applicants are required to register online, pay the prescribed fees, and bring original documents along with self-attested copies for verification.

Since April 2024, the Regional Passport Office has organised eleven similar camps across Bihar, including in Siwan, Gopalganj, Purnia, Bagaha, Lakhisarai, and Sheikhpura. These outreach efforts come amid a rising volume of passport applications, with the office processing approximately four lakh applications in 2024.

The initiative coincides with the Ministry of External Affairs’ rollout of chip-enabled passports at the Patna office, effective May 12. Applicants are reminded that submissions for police clearance certificates or applications without prior online appointments will not be accepted at the camp.
The Regional Passport Office, Patna, said it remains committed to extending similar services across the state in the future.
