Patna: Petrol and diesel prices in Patna have risen once again, adding to the financial pressures on households already grappling with rising inflation. As of Wednesday, petrol is priced at Rs 105.53 per litre, up from Rs 105.23 on Tuesday, while diesel has climbed to Rs 91.77 per litre from Rs 91.49 on Monday.
Fuel costs, which affect transportation, daily essentials, and the broader economy, are closely monitored across India, with oil marketing companies revising rates every morning at 6 AM. Even slight fluctuations can ripple through prices of goods and services, impacting the monthly budgets of ordinary citizens.
Experts say domestic fuel prices are influenced by a combination of factors, including international crude oil rates, the dollar-rupee exchange rate, and central and state government taxes. While global crude oil prices remain relatively stable, minor domestic adjustments in petrol and diesel rates continue to occur.
Diesel, a crucial fuel for agriculture, freight, and public transport, plays a significant role in supply chains. Its rising cost is likely to translate into higher transportation and commodity prices, further straining household finances.
