Patna: A 12.4-kilometre stretch of road connecting Bhadaur near the Barh-Shahri-Sarmera road to Saksohra on NH-30A has developed around fifty potholes, sparking alarm among villagers and raising questions about the quality of construction.
Despite the road being completed nearly six months ago, it remains unopened and already shows significant signs of structural failure. In several sections, erosion has hollowed out the soil beneath the surface by as much as five feet, prompting fears of a possible road collapse. Locals say they are forced to cross the road at their own peril.

Premshankar, a resident of Dallochak village, described narrowly escaping an accident. “A pothole had developed on this highway earlier too. At the time, it was just filled with soil and left. Now, there are fifty potholes in just five kilometres,” he said.
Ranjit Kumar of Deendayal Bigha blamed waterlogging for the damage, warning that a serious accident could occur at any time.
When contacted, a local office staff member said the engineer assigned to the area was not available. “Soil will be filled in the potholes and chakholes,” the staffer said.
Contractor Vipul Singh, when reached by phone, confirmed that the road would be repaired but failed to explain the absence of an estimate board at the site or provide a timeline for the repairs.
