Patna: Patna Women’s College celebrated National Sports Day on August 29 with a series of fitness and recreational activities aimed at promoting sportsmanship, teamwork and an active lifestyle.
The programme was organised under the guidance of Dr Manjula Sushila, Sports Coordinator, and Quazi Bushra Ahmed, Sports Teacher.
Pigeons Released To Mark Sportsmanship
The programme began with the symbolic release of two pigeons, representing freedom, peace, energy and the spirit of sportsmanship.
Dr Sister M Tanisha A.C., Principal of Patna Women’s College, and Dr Sister Celine Crasta A.C., Vice Principal, released the pigeons to formally mark the beginning of the celebration.

Aerobics Session For Students
The celebrations continued with an aerobics session for students. The participants followed an energetic routine set to a Brazilian track, encouraging them to engage in physical activity as part of their daily routine.
Faculty Take Part In Team Games
Recreational games were also organised exclusively for the teaching faculty. Teachers participated in Tug of War and the Chain Game, with the activities focusing on teamwork, coordination and healthy competition.
The games provided faculty members an opportunity to participate actively in the National Sports Day celebrations while adding a recreational element to the programme.
The event concluded with the message, “Fitness ki Dose, Ek Ghante Roz.” The celebration highlighted the importance of fitness, discipline, coordination and teamwork while bringing students and faculty together through sporting activities.
