Patna: Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), organised a yoga session on Saturday to mark the 12th International Yoga Day. The programme was held in collaboration with the college’s Daksh and Housla Clubs and focused on promoting holistic health and well-being among students.
The session was conducted by Dr Manjula Sushila, Sports Coordinator, and Mrs Quazi Bushra Ahmed, Sports Teacher. Joint Sports Secretary Khushi Kumari assisted in organising the programme.
Students participated in a series of guided yoga practices and breathing exercises designed to enhance physical fitness, mental clarity and emotional balance. The activities aimed to encourage young people to incorporate yoga into their daily routines and adopt healthier lifestyles.
During the session, participants performed Surya Namaskar, Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Trikonasana, Ardha Chandrasana, Garudasana, Padmasana, Vajrasana, Ustrasana and Vakrasana. Pranayama and Anulom Vilom breathing exercises were also included as part of the programme.
Faculty members highlighted the importance of yoga in maintaining overall wellness, improving concentration and fostering inner peace. The event concluded with a message encouraging students to continue practising yoga regularly for a balanced and healthy life.
