Patna: Patna Women’s College on Monday inaugurated its much-anticipated Student Research Project (SRP) presentations, a week-long academic exercise that will run until January 9 and feature student research from across the institution.

The programme includes nine structured sessions, with students from 28 departments spanning multiple academic streams presenting their research findings. Designed to encourage academic rigour and interdisciplinary engagement, the event brings together subject experts who evaluate the presentations and offer scholarly feedback.
Outstanding research papers from the presentations will be published in Explore and Iris, the college’s peer-reviewed research journals.
The opening day featured two sessions. In the morning, students from the Life Sciences departments presented their work under the coordination of Dr Shobha Shrivastava. The afternoon session saw presentations from the Physical Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics departments, coordinated by Dr Madhu Rani Sinha and Dr Kavita Verma.

The SRP presentations are being organised under the supervision of Dr Bhawna Sinha, research coordinator at Patna Women’s College, who is overseeing coordination across all sessions.

Addressing the gathering, the college principal, Dr Sister M Rashmi A.C., commended the students for their commitment to research and highlighted the role of such initiatives in fostering critical thinking, academic excellence and research-oriented learning.
The week-long programme reflects the college’s continued emphasis on strengthening research skills and promoting scholarly engagement among its students.
