Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Bihar’s Gaya district on August 22, marking yet another significant stop in his ongoing tour of the state. As preparations intensify, senior state officials and ministers have reviewed arrangements in a high-level meeting at Gaya Airport. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar, and senior officials including the IG, DM, and SSP.
While the exact venue for the Prime Minister’s programme is yet to be finalised, discussions are reportedly underway to host a grand rally in one of three possible locations: Gandhi Maidan, Belaganj, or Bodh Gaya. A final decision is expected in the coming days.
Modi’s visit is anticipated to include both a public address and announcements of new schemes for the state. His last visit to Bihar on July 18 in Motihari saw the inauguration and foundation laying of projects worth Rs 7,200 crore, alongside the flagging off of four Amrit Bharat trains. That event was seen as politically significant, especially in relation to the 12 parliamentary seats in East Champaran.
Local expectations are running high ahead of the upcoming Gaya event. Residents and political observers alike are keen to see what development projects or policy announcements might accompany this visit. With the Bihar Assembly elections on the horizon, Modi’s increasing engagement in the state is being closely watched for potential electoral messaging.
