Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that Janjati Jayanti will be celebrated on November 15, and described Chhath as a “symbol of social unity” during his monthly radio address, Mann Ki Baat.
The broadcast, aired live from the BJP Media Centre, was attended by several senior leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, BJP State President Dilip Jaiswal, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and MP Ravi Shankar Prasad.
During the programme, PM Modi urged citizens to participate in the “Run for Unity” on National Unity Day, observed on October 31. He also spoke about his plans to return to Mann Ki Baat next month with a new topic.
Touching on India’s coffee cultivation, the Prime Minister praised the produce of Koraput, saying the coffee “tastes amazing” and benefits local communities. “People there are cultivating coffee out of passion. India is becoming increasingly popular worldwide,” he added.
PM Modi also highlighted the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram, falling on November 7, and encouraged citizens to preserve and promote this tradition for future generations. He invited suggestions from the public using the hashtag #vandemataram150.
